Franky 04

Last submission I was ahead of schedule, having completed the textures, so for this submission there are only a few tweaks. Mainly focused on outputting advanced renders. Managed to get a few morph targets of his face into engine to render. Biggest change was the scope integrated within his hand, which I updated the model to better reflect the reference.

Franky 03

Currently I am ahead of schedule, having completed the retoplogy, UV, baking, and texturing phases of the asset. Working ahead has allowed me to create additional details and accessory assets to accompany Franky, including some of his internal cyberware and minor props including the soda bottle and bullet/canon ball. Before next submission this week I would like to create multiple poses of Franky using his various abilities, as well as figuring out how to import morph targets which I have already created into UE5.

Franky 02

 



Currently I am on schedule, have completed the high poly mesh, and have begun retopologizing. All that remains to retopologize is the hair, shirt, feet, and glasses. A majority of the work this week has gone into stylizing last weeks body sculpt to better fit the reference and tinkering with Marvelous Designer for the first time to make the shirt.

Franky 01



Currently I am on schedule, if not a little bit ahead. I'll update this post if I manage to make any additional changes post assignment submission. Currently all I have left in the high res phase is his hair, chain (which I plan on using a ZBrush IMM so its quick), his shirt, and any additional stylization to his body overall. His body might seem over-sculpted for a stylized character. This was intentional as I plan on reusing the torso and parts of the legs for my first summer semester project; Hellboy.

Project Ideas PureRef


The main thing I want to focus on with this project, and future projects, is practicing hair/fur and clothing. For this project I'd like to start with Franky from One Piece (middle left), since he is stylized cartoon character. Throughout FIEA I'd like to make assets in different styles and one or two not bipedal/humanoid.
